Sweet treats from breakfast to dessert, with a healthy twist.

White Chocolate Whole Wheat Muddy Buddies

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Since we all need some no-bake simplicity every now and then, these are a wonderful Twisted alternative to the traditional Muddy Buddies (“Puppy Chow”)! I decided to use the whole wheat Chex, white chocolate (because I’ve been on such a white chocolate kick lately), a dash of cinnamon, and NO butter! This treat definitely has all the punch of the original version, but is such a lovely change of pace with all new flavors, you’ll be excited to make them for your next get together!

White Chocolate Whole Wheat Muddy Buddies

3 cups Whole Wheat Chex
1/3 cup white chocolate chips
3 Tbs. creamy peanut butter
1 tsp. cinnamon (divided: 1/4 tsp, 3/4 tsp)
1/4 cup powdered sugar

~In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the white chocolate and peanut butter together for 30 seconds, stir, then 30 seconds more until fully melted (you should be able to easily mix them together without any bits of white chocolate remaining). Stir in 1/4 tsp of the cinnamon.
~Put your Chex in a large bowl. Pour the peanut butter/white chocolate/cinnamon mixture over the cereal and use a spatula to carefully stir it all together. Sprinkle the powdered sugar and cinnamon over the top and use your spatula to completely cover the saturated cereal. If needed, wait 10 min and give one last sprinkle of powdered sugar and toss together. Enjoy!
