Surprise! Didn’t know when I’d be popping in with more Sprinkles, did ya? Well honestly, neither did I! I’m still not quite sure which day I’d like to consistently be filling you in, but until I figure it out, I think a little spontaneity wouldn’t kill you (coming from me, this is a huge laugh since I’m the most scheduled person in the whole world).
I wanted to share a few of my favorite beauty products. I’m a HUGE product and makeup junkie, so my “favorites” are ever-changing. But when I find good stuff, I want to shout it from the rooftops!
I know we are all suffering from terribly dry skin! It’s the bane of my existence. Two words for ya: body oil. Yes, oil. No, its not baby oil…its body oil for adults. Ew, pretend I didn’t say that!! I’m so sorry!!
Ok, it’s the Vaseline cocoa body oil (in the picture above)! It barely has a scent and it absorbs into dry skin so quickly! No, you won’t become an oil slick. I apply it right when I get out of the shower and let it absorb, then I jump into my jammies and call it a night (I shower at night…if you couldn’t tell). I also love it because it doesn’t get stuck in my rings like lotion does. I hate when I lather on lotion, then realize I’ve just turned my jewelry into dull and dirty things. Oil just glides right on past.
Get it, try it. You’ll love it. (I found mine at Target, but I’m pretty sure you can get it just about anywhere)
I also wanted to share with you my favorite lipstick!
I have 3 different shades of the Marc Jacobs lipstick and I love it. This red shade comes in a slick red tube (the other shades come in a black tube) and it’s so sexy. I tend to not wear makeup most days (out of sheer laziness), so slicking on a layer of red lipstick makes me look like I actually tried.
Ladies, always wear a liner with red lipstick! Red lipstick feathers and fades, which is just gross. carefully follow your lip-line with a muted red or nude shade, then fill in your lips. THEN apply your red lipstick. Blot. Apply one last coat. Done. It’ll stay longer and stay in place!
Finally, you may have seen on Instagram that I am obsessed with this purple NARS shade of nail polish! Love it! It came in a 4-pack of minis for the winter season which made it a pretty good deal. Also, I love this Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics top coat! I seriously had a home-manicure last up to TEN days with this top coat. That’s awesome stuff right there. And it’s all 5-Free and I can wear it, no allergy problems. Double score.
I would close today with a bow…except I have one last thing to go nuts about.
My husband and I went to visit my parents last weekend. While we were there, we all banded together and adopted a new puppy for my parents.
Ever since our family dog died in the summer of 2012, we all have been pretty depressed and devastated. I didn’t think that sadness over a lost pet could last so long, but it has. There is nothing worse than losing a family member, and our dear sweet dog was all that and more to us. I can’t speak for my brothers, but I know that my parents and I often find ourselves caught up in memories of her and crumble to tears.
I finally convinced my parents that it was time to adopt a puppy and bring some smiles, life and fun into their house. The amount of joy and happiness that filled our weekend (yes, a lot of tears too over moving on) was just a slight indication of the good things to come for them and their new baby. Welcome Darla to the family, I know that we have.
