Well I have been struck with inspiration. I usually make odd decisions after it gets dark outside because I tend to have more confidence in the evening. My decisions are generally harmless: let’s watch a cheesy movie, let me text someone what I really feel about what they’ve said, I should make a huge bowl of oatmeal…harmless, right? Well, here comes another spontaneous decision: I’m going to make a yeast starter for bread and feed it and keep it for years. Yes, I’ve made a food pet.
If all works out, this starter will be providing yummy starter for yummy bread for my friends and myself for years to come. I’ll try not to get too eager and too ahead of myself until I see if it has started to grow in 12 hours, but I’m getting really proud of what I’ve done! I’m thinking this starter will be my pride and glory for years…the flower girl at my wedding, my best friend through good times and bad, something to confide in when my dog is being moody…can you see it? Well, I’ll try to keep my excitement at bay until it has grown, but I’ll keep everybody updated on it. Plus, it definitely needs a name…
I’m thinking….”Miss Mango” or something like that (since I have a dedicated reader that is obsessed with mangos)? Needs to have something food oriented and adorable about it. I’m open to suggestions!
