Popcorn Party Mix

December 22, 2011 by Melissa

Fa la la la la, la la la la…
Here’s part 3! Part 1 was Candy Cane Grahams, Part 2 was Mint Marshmallows, and to round it out, we have Popcorn Party Mix!

I think everybody loves a snack mix, and everyone has mad a version of them (how many kinds of Chex mix can you make?). I wanted to used popcorn, however, to lighten up a bit from all of the cereal mixes I’ve been drowning in lately. With a base of air popped popcorn and a drizzle and mix of salty-sweet flavors, this mix is sure to please whoever your crowd is!

Popcorn Party Mix
1/3 cup popping corn kernels
3/4 cup assorted nuts (you can make your own roasted mix, or buy a premixed can)
1/4 package of Almond bark (or 1/3 cup white chocolate chips, but Almond bark melts easier)
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

~Air pop your kernels. spread onto a parchment lined cookie sheet (or a piece of parchment on a cleared-off surface). Sprinkle your nuts on top of the popcorn, trying to evenly distribute it.

~Melt both kinds of chocolate in separate containers (I use the microwave, on medium heat). Carefully drizzle the chocolates on top of the popcorn/nut mix. Let set (this could take about an hour). Scoop into a bowl or into cute little bags for gifts, or enjoy it all on your own!

Tell me this isn’t calling your name!
Strike up a conversation: What’s your favorite way to make a cereal or nut mix?
