Travel in Healthful Bliss

February 29, 2012 by Melissa

This is my final energy bar review before the half-marathon! Can you believe it? I’m so nervous. Remember my review on Wine Time bars? Well, the company came out with another line of bar, called the Travel Timebar. Where the Wine Time bar resembled a candy bar, the Travel Time bar resembles a granola bar. There are two flavors: Almond Coffee, and Granola Citrus Burst. The Almond Coffee bar was like a jolt of espresso and chocolate while being hearty and satisfying. The Granola Citrus Burst one was so packed with flavor that I had to enjoy it very slowly, but in a good way! It was so…bright tasting (hope that makes sense!)!
The amazing thing about these bars, is that they feature Resveratrol (just like the Wine Time bar) and Wellmune WGP. What is Wellmune WGP, you ask? Well, it’s a revolutionary extract (from baker’s yeast, weirdly enough) that “[fortifies] key immune cells that are the body’s first line of defense. It actually ‘trains’ your immune system to be stronger every day.” (ResVez Incorporated) What does this mean for you? This bar is awesome to eat if you travel frequently and come into contact with anything that may lower your immune system! It promotes wellness to your core. It also helps protect your body from a lowered immune system, which can happen after intense exercise (yay for me, because training is intense).
Both flavors have 190 calories and 5 grams of protein, and they are higher in carbs than other protein bars, which makes them great for recovery after intense exercise too!
Strike up a conversation: Have you tried any unique energy bars lately?
