Candy Cane Grahams

December 19, 2011 by Melissa

Now that all of my Christmas baking is done and shipped away, I want to share the treats I made! The first treat: Candy Cane Grahams.
I always fall under the spell of the candy cane this time of year, and it always makes its way into my Christmas treats. This is a super simple recipe, using my standard Graham recipe! I cut mine into smaller squares this time (and tripled the recipe), and gave them a bit of holiday cheer.

Candy Cane Grahams

one batch of Homemade Honey Grahams (or store-bought, but why would you do that when you can make your own?)
1/3 package of dark or semisweet chocolate chips
5 candy canes

~Use a rolling pin to crush up your candy canes in a plastic bag. Place them in a shallow dish and set aside.
~Melt the chocolate in a shallow dish (wide enough to dip your Grahams in). In the microwave, use installments of 30 seconds on medium heat, stirring in between, to melt the chocolate without burning it.
~Dip the bottom of the Graham in the chocolate, then the crushed candy canes, and set aside (cane-side up) to let set (this may take about an hour). Enjoy alone or with mint marshmallows (recipe to come!).

Candy Cane Grahams and Mint Marshmallows! Oh my!
Strike up a conversation: What did you bake for everyone this year?
