Fabulously Fit Friday 8

November 9, 2012 by Melissa

So, I’ve spent the whole week jabbing my finger into my eye.
Staying healthy is attending to every part of you…right? Like making sure you don’t let three years pass between eye appointments. Ah hem.
So, I had this bright eye-dea (ha! I’m killin me!) that I would go get contacts…because I had a coupon (no joke) and I have it in my head that I would really like to see my groom standing at the end of the isle…

Crazy? Well, maybe the coupon is. Ha, but I’m cheap. Shocker.

Well, I got my eyes checked, was handed some contacts. I put out a fabulous effort apparently because I got them in!
And I haven’t been able to get them in since then. I’m so embarrassed! I have literally spend upwards of an hour everyday trying to get them in! And I’m going to take them to my “follow up” appointment (where I admit defeat) and ask them for the idiot-proof pair. Please.
Anyhoodle…besides my stupidity, I’ve had a good week! I increased my weights on the leg press to the heaviest I’ve ever done! So exciting. Plus, I’m concentrating on my health (as always), and working on slowly incorporating more healthy fats into my diet, per the request of my lovely fiancé. I’ve been experiencing some health problems lately (for now, that’s private, but I may explain more later when I actually know what’s going on) and he said that more healthy fats could be the answer, so I’ll do anything to ease his mind and perhaps make everything better in the meantime! Thus, more coconut oil, nuts, nut butters, olive oil…
The Sweaty Breakdown:

Saturday: bike for cardio warm up/cool down; strength training: legs!

Sunday: rest
Monday: burst intervals of “hustles”, planks, abs, and various shoulder weights!
Tuesday: Bike – intervals of increasing and decreasing resistance by the minute; every 10 minutes stopping to do 40 jumping jacks, 20 crunches, 12 leg raises, plank; total of 40 minutes!
Wednesday:16 min cardio intervals (just like last week!) plus 15 min of quick interval abs workout!
Thursday: steep incline speed walk for 1 mile; strength training: legs!
Fabulous Fitness Finds:

MaxFlowSports Cross-Grip hair band*: I received this headband and I was really skeptical. I have one of those heads that headbands NEVER stay on. I’m always staring at the fit girls running past me with their hair so cute and their accessories all in place…while my headband slips backwards and off my head. So, when I got this fitness headband, I was nervous but excited. When I put it on, I knew instantly that I was going to have success with this one! I completed my entire workout and it was in the exact place that I put it before I started! No slipping! And I’ve worn it for every workout since then. I absolutely love it!
Strike up a conversation: What were your Fitness Finds this week? Did you have any great workouts that pushed you to that next level?

*I was sent this MaxFlowSports hair band free of charge to wear as I wished and review however I saw fit. The opinions and review are 100% my own.
