Sprinkles of Real Life

February 1, 2014 by Melissa

RealLife3

First of all, I’ve gone on a Pinterest binge. I’ve gone crazy (surprise surprise) and made a vision board…please stop laughing at me!!! I’m totally in love with it! I always thought it was hokey when I saw people make them, but then, I thought “what’s the harm?” Um, none. No harm in Pinning pictures of what inspires me and what I’d love my 2014 to look like (looks very pink, sprinkley, and caffeinated).

Moving on…

I don’t know about you, but I am HYPED for the Super Bowl.

Let’s face it, my husband is such a huge sports fan that I usually steer in the complete opposite direction. I’m the lump on the other end of the couch, staring at the screen as he cheers or yells and when the game is over…I haven’t actually watched a single second of the game.

But the Super Bowl? That’s MY game! The commercials, the betting (against my dad), the snacking, the puppies, the BRONCOS! Yeah, my game.

I turn into a whole other monster when my dollar is on the line. Literally, dollar. Yeah, my dad and I bet $1 on the game every year. Just enough to keep it interesting.

For the game this year, I made –

Honey Nut Broncos Buddy Mix –  Muddy Buddies ain’t got nothin on me! We’ve got crunchy, sweet, peanut buttery, sprinkle-y goodness that is team themed! Booyah! Umm…sorry I just said “booyah”, I realize it totally doesn’t work for me and I take it back.

Plantain Crust Pizza –  Don’t tell my husband, but the pizza he’s eating is made out of plantains! Muahahahaha I’m such an evil genius, spreading healthy pizza to all. It is SO good. Guys, trust me on this. Go spend 89 cents on a plantain and make this pizza. You won’t regret it!

Since January is over (what????), I wanted to check in with YOU! How are your goals for the New Year coming along? Are you staying positive?

I have been trying really hard to stay positive, patient, and present. Those were my goals, and I’m tested every day. I’ve been going through some things that keep me up at night and test my limits, but I still try to reset my thinking back to the positive. We’ll get there. Deep breath.

In case you missed it, here’s the advice I gave on tackling your goals … and the advice I gave about facing boredom in our workout routines. I hope you find it all helpful! It’s advice I personally follow, so know I’m in the boat with you.

All of this positivity from me is crazy, right?? Who am I?!

I don’t think your Pinterest vision board is hokey! Heck, a couple of years ago, I spent an ENTIRE afternoon making an actual vision board…like from magazine cut outs and everything! I still have it…somewhere! I have to say, there’s something very cathartic about meticulously cutting out letters from a magazine…NOW I know why serial killers do it!
