It’s my birthday!!!
Take a few moments to party (I’ll be taking at least a week and a half…).
On turning 26.
Twenty-six. I am officially in my late twenties.
I promise I’m not going to get all “words of wisdom” on you because I realize how young I still am. Plus, I don’t feel like I’m in any position to impart much wisdom on you, despite my close friends’ tendency to summon me as Dr. King (I love that, but I’ll be the first to admit its illegal).
Anyways! I feel like I am officially that age. Where little kids look at you, call you Mrs. King, then go home and write in their diary about how when they’re old like you, they’re going to be married, have 4 kids and live in a mansion where they get massages all day long. Yup, here I am.
For my birthday I was going to make a killer awesome cake, but my cake pans and much of my kitchen are packed up already! I guess you could say we bought a house for my birthday (kind of makes the gift I’m getting for Steve for his birthday later this year look super L-A-M-E)! No worries though, we’ll go out for a slice of cake tonight to party party. Then we’re going to Seattle! Because I’ve never been, I’m addicted to coffee and I want a new adventure to start my 26th year.
I tend to treat my birthdays like a second New Years. I like to make new goals and resolutions for how I want to spend the next year of my life. This year involves a lot of kindness towards myself, natural homemade living, presence and positivity, and self-honesty. Also, a lot of Go-Getter spirit (hello, making dreams come true!).
So! Here’s to year 26! 25, you’ve been…trying. But I got married in year 25 so I’ll always treasure it. But 26 is going to be AHmazing. Send me something pretty (I have a list if you need help). Love you! And thank you for still being here with me!
