Fabulously Fit Friday 66

September 4, 2015 by Melissa

Ittttttttt’ssssss FriDAYYYYYYYY! Hooray! Let’s get into another edition of Fabulously Fit Friday! I can’t wait to share my latest workouts and fitness finds with you! This week we’re talking protein foods, cute outfits and the workouts I’m loving. Let’s jump right in.

Fabulously Fit Friday 66

After Blend I was obsessed with a pair of leggings we received from one of the sponsors, Soybu! They reached out to me later and offered me an outfit to try and I jumped at it. I am wearing the Ariel Tank and the Killer Caboose Capris in most of my workout photos on Instagram lately because they seriously fit me (not many pants fit over my preggo caboose) and move with me in my workouts! I totally recommend them. I also have a jacket from them, and as soon as it isn’t 95 degrees outside I’ll be whipping it out!

I’ve been going twice a week to Body Pump and feeling so crazy because it seems to get harder and harder each week. What is wrong with me?! Oh, maybe it’s the relaxin in my system, causing paralysis to my diaphragm, so I have to force-breathe WHILE working out, so workouts ARE twice as hard. My doctor is just amazed that I’m still going and keeping up. I can totally tell a difference in the definition in my arms though, and I can’t wait to see how my body transforms after I give birth.

I am still going to yoga and prenatal yoga. I’m finding that the meditation of the practice is helping me stay extremely positive about giving birth and the birth plan I have chosen. I’m also loving when I can still get into a balancing pose that I thought I wouldn’t be able to do by now.

I have learned, however, that my baby is head down, and at this point, I don’t want to tempt him to flip (he used to be butt-down, and so inversions were a free for all for me), so I’m going to be done with extreme inversions. To avoid extreme inversions during yoga practice, just prop your legs up the wall, close your eyes and breathe.

Food I’ve been LOVING lately:

Flap Jacked Mighty Muffins – I had 4 of these to try out and I am practically crying inside now that they’re gone. If you follow me on Snapchat (username mking3000), you saw me eating them like there was no tomorrow. They microwave in 45 seconds (the label says 35 but 45 worked in my ‘wave) and they are SO freaking good. And 20g of protein per muff?! Yum! MORE PLEASE!

Vega Protein and Greens – I am trying this line of Vega and I am loving it! I love knowing I’m getting a boosted dose of greens (for those days when I want nothing more than fruit, granola and muffins). I start my day with a protein pancake (or protein mug cake) every morning, so I’m loving this protein powder.

I’ve decided to start waking up earlier when it’s a touch cooler in the morning (ie bearable) just to walk a lap around my neighborhood. I did this all last year and I love getting back to that. It’s really energizing to wake up while walking and watching the sunrise. The first morning was the hardest to peel myself out of bed, but after that it was pretty easy.

Annnnnddddd that’s about it! I have my yoga mat packed and ready for Labor Day weekend so hopefully I get some quality relaxation time in and a few pretty pictures! What are your Labor Day plans?!

As always, this is not a sponsored post in any way. All opinions are my own.
