January Beauty Favorites

January 15, 2017 by Melissa

It’s been way too long since we’ve had a makeup and beauty party, but I’m back at it and ready to show you what I love! So here are my January Beauty Favorites!

January Beauty Favorites // treatswithatwist.com

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette-

I swore I’d never buy another palette because I have so many and I own every single color…or so I thought. This Palette is my FAVORITE buy in the last year, eye shadow-wise. The matte nudes are all perfection, but there’s a gray shade in there (Magnet) and a terracotta shade (Extra Bitter) that I am in love with! Seriously, I didn’t think I’d wear such bold shades just as everyday shades, but they totally work! Buy this palette, you won’t regret it.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara –

I’m usually a “try one…then move on” person when it comes to mascara. But this is one that I’ve not only bought twice but also spent my bonus points on to get the travel sized one for “free” too. I LOVE this mascara. It separates, adds volume, and makes my eyelashes look gorgeous! I can’t thank Shelly enough for steering me to this mascara, because it is my everyday necessity.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick –

Comfort Matte in Troublemaker– This is the perfect berry purple color. I love that it stays on all freaking day long. The color is so rich too. It’s not a true matte (like the NARS matte pencil shades are) so it has a touch of shine, but it definitely isn’t shiny.

Cream in Naked– I didn’t think I could be so obsessed with a nude color, but this is the perfect pink nude. It has the perfect amount of pigment and seriously looks great no matter what color I wear on my eyes. And the “cream” formula feels like lip butter. I adore it. I usually wear it on top of the Marc Jacobs liner (in the picture) and I feel like I get a good touch of color all day.

Marc Jacobs lip liner –

I actually wear this shade as a full lipstick. I have it in Honey Bun and it is the perfect touch of pink. This is the second time I’ve bought it, because when all of my lip colors accidentally went out in the trash (traumatic to say the least) I couldn’t get this one out of my head. Definitely a staple in my routine.

Peter Thomas Roth Blue Algae face mask –

Hello Chicago, my skin is crying because it is so dry. My mom bought the sampler of every PTR mask before Christmas and this is the one I keep on the counter and am obsessed with. I love them all (seriously, the BEST), but I put this one on after a shower, let it work its magic, rinse and then moisturize. I swear my skin looks vibrant and moisturized. My mom asked what kind of foundation I was wearing one day…I wasn’t wearing any makeup. Bam.

F.A.B. Ultra Repair Cream –

I can’t recommend this cream enough. Seriously. I use it on my face and neck morning and night and it soaks in, has NO smell, never makes my skin break out and never feels heavy. I always stock up on it when it’s in the free rewards bank because I go through one tube every winter (it lasts a really long time) because you only need a tiny bit, but I’ve been putting it on my baby’s face and on my hands too this year.

BITE beauty Agave Lip Mask –

Don’t be scared by the price tag on this one. I am on tube two of this stuff but I swear the last tube lasted me at least a year. And I use it every evening on my lips! I’ve always had flaky, dry lips, but with occasional exfoliating and putting this magical stuff on my lips every night, that isn’t my problem anymore! And it’s totally natural, so you don’t have to worry about anything, which I love.

Bumble and Bumble BB Repair Blow Dry Cream –

Hair saver! I get around to blow drying my hair maybe one out of ten times. But I still put this cream on my wet hair in hopes that I’ll make it that far. It never makes my hair look greasy and my hair doesn’t look brittle or dry from neglect. Win!

What have you been loving lately?! Tell me tell me!

I’ve been really into maybelline and rimmel ever since last year. I’m inlove kate rimmel lipsticks even the maybelline creamy mattes lippies. Since, I’m a busy woman I tend to keep it simple make up thats why I use the maybelline’s white SuperFresh powder foundation. Btw, you really have a lovely blog. Keep it up!

AH Carla!! I love this comment. Trying new things (an art, workout, food, clothing style, etc) just leads to growth. We can’t have the same interests forever, right? Maybe you’ll find out you love it and suddenly you’re a makeup or skincare junkie? Maybe you just like it a bit and you start wearing a favorite blush everyday? Who knows! Fun to be curious though!

I'm Melissa! This is a space for gluten-free treats and eats, a more natural lifestyle, health and beauty, family travel and sustainability. I hope you stay awhile and enjoy!
