Fabulously Fit Friday 26

April 26, 2013 by Melissa

Oh my gosh! Can you believe another month is already practically gone?

I was absolutely shocked. I’m glad I remembered though…you know, rent being due and all…

Glad I also didn’t blow all my rent money on the oh-so-tempting Diane Von Furstenberg sale that’s happened on one of my favorite flash-sale sites…ok, well maybe I’m not too happy about that. Can you believe that I can’t just buy every designer item I see on a whim, because it’s pretty?! Totally not fair! I thought being an adult meant that you were cool and could stay up late and buy whatever you want…

In other news (had to vent, sorry!), here’s what happened this week!

This Week’s Treats:

Mocha-Glazed Banana Mocha Chip Muffins:

MochaBananaMuffins2

Ultimate Peanut Butter Blondies (vegan!):

So I was asked to make some vegan treats for a local vegan bake sale, for charity! I was so excited! I made some awesome chocolate chip (and chunk!) cookies AND I made a vegan version of these No-Bake Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites! Hope they love them! Especially because I was trying not to eat them all.

The Sweaty Breakdown:

This week, I got back to some old workouts I haven’t done in awhile. My fiance was out of town for the week (no worries, he’s back now!), so I had a LOT of time to myself to think about my eating and working out. I decided to move out of my “rest week” with a vengeance!

Friday: I had an amazing indoor 5k run! I know, I haven’t done an endurance run since October (health related reasons), but it was so nice and freeing to know that I could hop on the treadmill and run as far as I wanted to. It was a very emotional run for me.

Switched to Starbucks Tribute blend this week and am in Amazingly Tasty Dark Coffee Heaven!

Saturday: I took a rest day today. We ran errands ALL day long. From clothes shopping to car shopping, I think we did it all! It certainly wasn’t restful.

Ok, I didn't buy this mini pineapple (seriously $5!), but I was so tempted! Anybody buy mini pineapples and want to tell me if they're amazingly tasty?

Sunday: Today I knocked out a toning workout from SELF Magazine. I like trying the workouts in SELF because they usually work up a great sweat for me! This one left me pretty sore!

New favorite lipgloss. Smells like cake. Enough said.

Monday: I woke up extra early to knock out an interval workout. I ended up doing the one from the latest SELF magazine (part of their Drop 10 Diet). It incorporates long running intervals then switches to short sprinting intervals!

Tuesday: Rest day!

Wednesday: I woke up and knocked out Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred video before work! I haven’t let Jill kick my butt in awhile so it was pretty exhausting! Totally worth the early wakeup call though.

Thursday: I had an awesome workout in the gym today! I busted out an elliptical warmup and cool-down and an amazing arm workout! I lifted some pretty heavy weights, which I haven’t done in a couple weeks!  Then…I came home and made lots of treats 🙂

Fabulous Fitness Finds:

Well, first of all, apparently not enough people bugged Quaker Oats for me, because I’m still not sponsored by them. Only kidding (except I’m not kidding).

Moving on, I want to thank Chobani!! They sent me this amazing care package!!*

Thank you Chobani!!!

Thank you Chobani!!!

It contains all of their new Flips yogurts which are pretty adorable! I love that the toppings are all in the side compartment, because then you can choose how much you want to add, or you can add some, eat the toppings layer off, then add more (you know you do that).

They totally made me think of these yogurts I had as a kid. I don’t even remember what brand they were, but I loved them because the top of them was filled with sprinkles or little crunchy cookie bits. Yup, totally loved my yogurt (or maybe I loved sprinkles and cookies…). Anyhoodle, these Chobani ones are the grown-up version and a whole lot tastier!

Here’s a shocker! For the first time (ever), I liked vanilla yogurt! I never get vanilla! I will flavor my own plain yogurt to make vanilla, but I seriously won’t buy an already vanilla-flavored yogurt. BUT this Chobani Flip one, it has oats and candied pralines in the toppings compartment, and it is really yummy!

I, of course, lean more towards the Key Lime (shocker, there are grahams and white chocolate chips in the toppings side) but I loved how mellow the Honey Banana one was (I didn’t add all of the topping for this one, I thought half was just right).

However you choose to eat them, they’re adorable and make an awesome on-the-go snack. I am notorious for buying flavored fruit-on-the-bottom yogurts, knowing I’ll spoon the yogurt off the top into a separate bowl, then add half of the flavored fruit from the bottom, and toss the rest; so any yogurt that makes it easier for me to be picky, is a-okay by me!

*Chobani sent me these yogurts. They’re awesome. The company and the yogurts. I was not paid to do this review in anyway, I just felt a need to gush. Okay? So these opinions are totally my own. You can email me if you want to talk yogurt more in-depth, because I’m cool like that.

Yes, you should follow me on Instagram!  And Twitter too! That way you can see all the eats, treats, and sweat sessions as they happen.

That key lime pie Flip does sound delicious. I haven’t tried any of them yet, but when I have the chance, I think key lime will be the way to go! 🙂

Still loving the looks of those blondies, and SO happy for your successful run. 🙂 I haven’t had a chance to have the flips, but I do remember those crunchy yogurts when I was kid. Not because I got to eat them, but because I was always jealous of everyone who did. [We were a Dannon Fruit-On-The-Bottom family.]

Ah, I see. I was extremely picky with yogurt as a kid (funny, right?) because it actually would make me gag (Yoplait still does!)!! When my mom stopped buying the amazing candy yogurt, we switched to another candy yogurt, the only other one that I could stomach, Trix Yogurt Swirls!! Haha Yup!

“I thought being an adult meant that you were cool and could stay up late and buy whatever you want…” <- Omg, that's SO what I thought credit cards were for!! Lol

Awesome job on the workouts! A great run AND some heavy weights? You're my HEEEEEERO! Except I'm totally jealous that you got ALL the flips to try…my box was missing the raspberry and the banana! Guess I'll have to go and actually PAY for them! Dang! 😉

Note to self: find cake-flavored lip gloss!!!

Yes! Girl! I’d pay $100 for cake scented gloss! Maybe…
But I seriously got it at Ulta 🙂
