Fabulously Fit Friday 29

May 17, 2013 by Melissa

I’ve had a very strange week to deal with. My fiance was out on a business trip (he’s back now), so I was left to my own devices.

I was quite the party girl when he was gone. You know, in bed by 9:30, yogurt for dinner…woo hoo…really living it up. But, that’s just me. Too hot to handle.

I had some very strange dreams and didn’t get much sleep. I felt sick for part of the week. A dear friend of mine got engaged (yay!!), and I had a massive meltdown over some regrets I’ve had over how my wedding plans have been going (boo!!).

But, despite all that, I had some great treats, eats, and a fun workout adventure!

On Saturday, my fiance and I went to a local Greek Festival!

I picked one of the GIANT coconut cookies!

Confession! Favorite moisturizer that I spent a hefty penny on but is AMAZING and totally changing my skin…

IMG_3441 This Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer has SPF 40 and totally has changed my skin in major ways! It calms my skin (which, if you know me, you know that I’ve been battling with skin problems all of my adult life!) and makes me look radiant (if I do say so myself). Love it! Get it!

What I’ve been noshing on and can’t get enough of:

IMG_3424

The Navitas Naturals Dragon Fruit*! It’s amazing! It has a crackly but chewy texture (think Krispie treat), subtle sweetness, and such a unique fruit flavor! And, because I started dipping it in MaraNatha Maple Almond Butter, I can’t eat it without doing that anymore!
Dragon Fruit? Yup! It’s packed with Iron and Magnesium too, so I’d call it “recovery food” for all of you that need a timing excuse…for me, it’s just an awesome snack!

IMG_3404 Pretty! Right?? Love the Farmers Market!

IMG_3436 Yup, I’m still up to my “secret life” shenanigans!

Look! I tried something new!! I’m so proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying an Aerial Pilates class! (sorry to that guy who is in my picture…)

IMG_3446 I even did all of the inversions! And because I bought a Living Social for 6 classes, I’ll be back 5 more times! As part of my (ad) What’s Beautiful goals, I wanted to try new things, so here’s some proof that I’m making that happen.

Annnddd…this morning, I posted this picture on my Instagram and asked you all what I was making with my Fage Greek yogurt and Blue Diamond almond milk…

photo 1 (1) And yup, my Heather guessed it!

photo 3 Pancakes! And I had already taken a bite out of the mini one (love that I usually end up with a mini one!). Oh, and what do I prefer to top mine with?

photo 2 (1) Yup! Jam! I love these Smucker’s sugar-free jams and this one was empty after today’s pancakes! Guess I’m running to the store (good thing they practically know my name at the store).

Note: I was not paid to advertise or talk about and of these products! I seriously bought them with my own pennies and used them however I wanted (wouldn’t it be weird if I was forced to make pancakes and top them with jam…Oh the humanity!!!)

*Yup, Navitas Naturals sent me this product to try and to use as I please. I tried it, loved it, and decided to take pictures and write about it here! You’re welcome!

Boo for the negative thoughts but hooray for all of the positives – seeing a silver lining makes it all a bit better… Hope you have a wonderful weekend girly!

Yum those pancakes look good as did the cookie you had at the Greek place. Hopefully you are feeling better after your meltdown. Sometimes having a meltdown can actually make you feel less stressed because you get rid of some stress you’ve been bottling up.

I really want to try aerial Pilates it looks really fun 🙂

I want to try that dragon fruit SO BADLY!!!! I’ve had “real” (as in, not dried) and it wasn’t super flavorful, but fun to eat because of its appearance. I’d love to see how this compares.

And what ISN’T good dipped in nut butter?

Yay!!! I WIN!!! What do I get?! A pony? A unicorn?! Of course, I’d settle for some of those pancakes! 😉

Oh my gosh! I haven’t had peach jam in a hot minute! I had a foodie pen pal once who sent me some homemade peach honey preserves and since then I’ve become a bit of a jam snob…I seriously need to learn how to make my own…oh the possibilities would be ENDLESS!!

When I first read that bit about the moisturizer, I thought you said you spent half a penny on it…I was like, uhhhhh what? God, I’m a goober!

“Wouldn’t it be weird if I was forced to make pancakes and top them with jam…Oh the humanity!!!” <- Bahaha!
